About Me and a Simple Conversation
I’ve been interested in Photography for as long as I can remember. There are many happy recollections of spending time with my Dad and my Grandad, staring into the chemical trays watching and waiting for the picture to show itself whilst having a simple conversation about what we would see. Breathing in the (probably) toxic fumes was all part of the fun of it. There are treasures amongst those images we captured and processed in the kitchen that he converted into a darkroom.
It’s true that I’ve never lost the fascination and now I’m lucky enough to be able to make my living from doing something that I love. The media world has changed massively in recent years and will continue to do so. With that change comes a whole array of opportunities. Taking advantage of new ideas is something I love. I like to add more and more into my portfolio and in return, offer a continuously wider set of services.
Onward and Upward
It’s hugely interesting, not knowing where things can lead. Often from simple conversations or phone calls, a whole new chapter beckons. I’m a firm believer in life long learning. Take time to learn for yourself is a good mantra. I also love to share my knowledge with people of all ages. There are courses for adults as individuals or small groups and for younger people via the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. I’m always excited to see what the D of E students present for the photographic challenges I set them.
No two jobs are the same. It may be video editing one day and then the Atlas mountains the next, then a spot of animation for good measure. It’s often the case that I start a business relationship with a client on one aspect of my work and then this develops into a wider range of my services as I help to bring continuity and clarity to the media messaging we are creating.
Where am I?
I’m based in Haddenham in Buckinghamshire, a beautiful village. It’s even made it on to the TV in the best village competition recently. It is also well placed for getting around the country with its central position and good rail links.
I have a range of skills that I can offer according to the needs of the business or the people I am trying to help. I offer imaging skills, from still and video capture and animation to photo and video editing, website materials, marketing collateral, photos, videos and animation. Do get in touch if you think I can help you in any or several of these ways.
